Ethics, Sourcing & Sustainability Policy

Effective Date: February 01, 2026

At Maison Amrit, we believe that true luxury is defined not only by exquisite craftsmanship but also by unyielding integrity. We observe the highest ethical standards across our business and insist that our partners do the same.

We are deeply committed to ensuring that every piece of fine jewelry we create is sourced responsibly, prioritizing environmental sustainability, human rights, and absolute transparency.

1. Conflict-Free Diamond Policy

Maison Amrit, alongside the global diamond industry, maintains a strict, zero-tolerance policy toward conflict diamonds (also known as "blood diamonds").

  • The Kimberley Process: We proudly adhere to and enforce the standards established by the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS), a United Nations-mandated initiative designed to eliminate the trade of illegal diamonds used to fund armed conflicts.
  • Strict Supplier Compliance: We exclusively purchase diamonds through reputable, respected suppliers who are public affiliates of the global diamond industry and strictly comply with the Kimberley Process. All diamonds supplied to us are warranted to be conflict-free.
  • Severance Clause: If we discover that any of our suppliers have violated these ethical standards, we will immediately and permanently sever our relationship with them.

2. Gold Sourcing & Purity (BIS Hallmarking)

Gold is the foundation of our craft, and its origins matter to us.

  • Ethical Metals: We strive to ensure that our gold and precious metals come from suppliers who meet stringent social, human rights, and environmental criteria. We prefer to work with partners who source recycled and secondary gold to reduce the environmental impact of new mining operations.
  • BIS Hallmarking Guarantee: To guarantee absolute transparency and protect our customers, all Maison Amrit gold jewelry is mandatorily BIS Hallmarked. This government-approved hallmark guarantees the exact karatage and purity of your gold, ensuring you get exactly what you pay for.

3. Lab-Grown Diamonds: A Sustainable Alternative

In addition to ethically sourced natural diamonds, Maison Amrit proudly offers a curated selection of premium Lab-Grown Diamonds (LGDs).

  • Lab-grown diamonds possess the exact same chemical composition, physical attributes, and optical brilliance as diamonds mined from the earth.
  • They are entirely conflict-free by origin (created in highly controlled environments rather than mined).
  • Choosing a lab-grown diamond completely bypasses the direct environmental impact and human labor concerns associated with traditional mining.

4. Independent Certification & Transparency

We strictly purchase and source only certified diamonds and gemstones. To ensure absolute transparency and trust, every significant stone used in Maison Amrit jewelry is evaluated and certified by prominent, globally recognized certifying authorities and institutions.

  • Recognized Laboratories: Our stones carry certifications from trusted entities such as the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), the International Gemological Institute (IGI), and Solitaire Gemmological Laboratories (SGL).
  • Shared with the Customer: The original laboratory grading certificate—guaranteeing the authenticity, cut, color, clarity, and carat weight of your stones—is always shared and securely delivered to you alongside your purchased jewelry.

5. Social Responsibility

As an Indian jewelry maison, we are committed to uplifting the artisan communities that make our work possible. We ensure fair labor practices within our workshops and strictly prohibit the use of child labor or exploitative working conditions at any stage of our supply chain. We view our policy on responsible sourcing as an evolving standard, and we are committed to continuous improvement.
