Laser inscription, matched to the stone
The report number, inscribed on the girdle, tying the stone to its paperwork.
A certificate confirms the stone. It doesn't say we chose it well.
The 4Cs are the floor, not the ceiling. Scintillation, fire, weight distribution, symmetry, and polish aren't captured on a grading report. We check for them before a stone is ever offered.

Diamonds under 1 carat come with SGL or IGI jewelry certification. Above 1 carat, a standalone certificate as well. Take the report number from your certificate, or from the stone's girdle, and check it against the lab directly.
Recently certified stones can take a few days to appear in a lab's database.
Certification isn't only about the stone.
Every gold piece, 9K, 14K, or 18K, carries a BIS Hallmark and a Hallmark Unique ID (HUID), a six-digit code engraved into the metal. Checked independently by the government body that regulates it, under our own BIS registration, 9390951511.

Can a jeweler tell it's lab-grown just by looking?
Not by eye
A thermal tester confirms the stone is diamond. It cannot separate lab-grown from natural.
