Care Guide

Solid gold and a real diamond hold up. A little care keeps them looking like it.

Nothing here is fragile, but daily wear still means lotion, friction, and the odd knock against a hard surface. This is what keeps a piece looking the way it did the day it arrived.

Everyday

Daily care

Most of what damages jewelry over time isn't a single accident, it's small chemical and physical wear that adds up.

Do
Store it in the keepsake box when it's not being worn, ideally separated from other pieces so metal doesn't scratch metal.
Wipe it down with a soft, lint-free cloth after wearing, especially before putting it away.
Put it on last, after perfume, lotion, and hairspray have dried.
Take it off before you sleep, work out, or do anything with your hands that involves repeated impact.
Avoid
Perfumes, lotions, and household chemicals in direct contact with the piece.
Swimming pools and hot tubs. Chlorine reacts badly with gold alloys over time.
Ultrasonic cleaners at home. They're fine for some settings, not safe for all, and we'd rather you ask first.
Tossing it loose into a bag or drawer with other jewelry or hard objects.
By Metal

Gold purity changes wear. Platinum plays by different rules entirely.

Within gold, purity and durability move in opposite directions. Platinum isn't a point on that same scale, it's a different metal with its own care profile. The full breakdown is on Craftsmanship, here's what it means day to day.

9K Gold Our hardest, most durable weight. Holds up well to daily wear with minimal care.
14K Gold A balance of durability and color depth. Standard care is enough for everyday pieces.
18K Gold Our softest, richest-color gold. Shows surface marks sooner than 9K or 14K, worth a gentler hand and more frequent wipe-downs.
Platinum (PT950) Denser and naturally white, not just a softer or harder gold. Needs less frequent care and develops a soft patina with age, an heirloom quality, not a flaw. It isn't malleable, so resizing and repairs take longer and cost more than in gold.
The Stone

Cleaning your lab-grown diamond

A lab-grown diamond is exactly as hard as a natural one, hard enough to resist scratching from almost anything you'll encounter day to day. It isn't unbreakable. A sharp knock at the wrong angle can still chip a stone or loosen a setting, which is why storage and impact matter more than hardness does.

To clean it: warm water, a few drops of mild dish soap, and a soft-bristled brush, an old toothbrush works fine. Soak for a few minutes, brush gently around the setting where dust collects, rinse, and dry with a lint-free cloth. Do this every few weeks if you wear the piece often.

Colored gemstones and materials like enamel, mother of pearl, and onyx are softer and more porous than diamond. The same gentle wash works, but skip the soak, a quick wipe with a damp cloth is safer for these.

Beyond Home Care

When to bring it back to us

Loose setting If a stone feels like it's moving at all, stop wearing the piece and send it to us. We'll re-secure it.
Resizing Available after purchase at an additional charge. Full detail on Size Guide.
Manufacturing defect We remake or repair at no cost. That isn't a policy, it's the standard.
Deep clean or inspection Send it in periodically and we'll clean it properly and check the setting is still secure.
Not covered yet: we don't currently have a published insurance or warranty program beyond manufacturing-defect repair. If you want one stated on this page, that has to be defined first, it isn't something to write copy around before it exists.
